I have a pair of these that I use for soldering. I have tried these
with the M1 and for me, they do not work.  I think this is a result of
the M1's optics being set up to feel like it is farther away.

I have some low power clip-ons that allow objects up to about 10' be
in focus and they do sharpen up the M1 a bit.  But I do not find that
I put them on for using it.  If I have them on for something else,
there is no problem using the M1 with them though.
