local area wearable audio link

Hi,

I'm new to this list. I would like to take a limited venture into
wearable computing in that I am looking for a good way to create a
wireless audio link to my work computer. I hope to experiment with
developing a speech based PDA. Mostly I want to have my computer notify

me of new email and local messages, appointment reminders, play selected

mp3 lists, and respond to simple voice commands.

I experimented with an ultra cheap, recoton wireless headphone system,
but it broke up when seperated by 20 feet and a couple walls. I'm
looking for a reliable, clear range of about 2000 ft and stereo
transmission.Does anyone have suggestions on the best way to set this
up?

Thanks
