Lizzy looks ok but not having a dispay system avalable at this time is a problem. Do note that you can do a Lizzy with a standard VGA heads-up display, just use a PC/104 VGA card. There's not actually that much difference between Wearcomp and Lizzy -- I'd just steal the best ideas from each. The biggest problem we've seen with VGA displays is that they take a lot of power (~ 5 Watts!) -- not in the display so much as in the driver-board. When ordering the displays, make sure to get the power consumption for both the display and the driver -- the sales people will tend to only tell you the display power consumption if you don't ask specifically. Perhaps when Motorolla comes out with their improved Koplin cyberdisplay (QVGA) this will change, but last I heard they were still predicting Q2.
