Its true that Otaku can be used in reference to things other than anime, but it is rarely so. I guess I might as well offer at least a little credentials to my point. I'm currently working on a Shogo mod(ification) called Otaku. I guess I might as well give some definitions now: These definitions were graciously provided by Otakuworld. Otaku: Literally house, home, or you. Otaku: In colloquial use, meaning fanatic or enthusiast. Otaku: Carries the same social connotations as geek or nerd. Otaku usually carried a strong reference to anime. As evidence of this, goto the Otaku webpage, do a search on yahoo, goto someplace like Otakuworld, etc. You'll find almost no references on the net to an otaku without a reference to anime. If anyone doubts me further, goto yahoo and do a search for otaku. I promise you at least 85% of the sites listed will be anime related. oh, btw, goto http://www.planetshogo.com/otaku/ to see Otaku's homepage. And goto the shockwave version if your can, its worth it. And yes, this email is just to backup my previous one. No real information was provided here that wasnt provided in my last letter, this one just gives proof. =) Myren ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com -- Subcription/unsubscription/info requests: send e-mail with subject of "subscribe", "unsubscribe", or "info" toWear-Hard Mailing List Archive (searchable): http://wearables.ml.org
