Ummm that actually happened. the SNL skit was based on fact. Actually Japanese culture is very different from ours, Technology and high technology is an every day thing and it is normal for the rich to have automated homes, robotic lawn mowers, tv watches, PDA's that make the crap sold here look like fisher price toys, etc... The USA with the overly limiting laws, silly regulations, and other fodder coupled with a high rate of technophobia is what causes our lack of interest in the technological side of life.. The teenager that can program in 2 languages, build electronic devices from scratch and spew out IP addresses is looked down upon in our society as a geek while the captian of the football team who thinks that the net is a type of hair style is looked at as the Ideal. Whereas the geek will be a productive member of society while the jock will ask you if you want fries with that or what kind of oil you want in your car. Japan they praise genus, now if the states would get it's butt in gear we'd overtake the world. > > Trekkies > > (ala the SNL skit with John Belushi as William Shatner telling his fans to > "Get a Life") ): http://wearables.ml.org -- Subcription/unsubscription/info requests: send e-mail with subject of "subscribe", "unsubscribe", or "info" toWear-Hard Mailing List Archive (searchable): http://wearables.ml.org
