On the whole HMD issue...
1) I wear glasses. Horribly thick ones. I *don't* want any more
impediments to my vision than I have already.
2) I don't have $800 to spend.
3) I think my pilot is keen, but I wish it had a keyboard and a bit more
'power'...
4) I think Dick Tracy's wristwatch communicator was keen.
The upshot? I'm thinking about trying to mount an LCD panel on my wrist
instead of using an HMD. I don't know much about this sort of hardware (I'd
say I'm a 'hardware newbie'), although I do know a small amount of basic
electronics.
I'm curious if anybody else has tried this, knows how/where cheap LCD panels
can be gotten, etc. I'm not looking for a huge screen, either. But even most
6" panels don't look like quite the right form for wrist mounting -- they
aren't 'short' enough...
