This type of technology, while here now, will not be available for a really really long time. Phone companies do not want to upgrade, they want that old corroded copper wire to last another 200 years because it's cheaper! and while using the internet phone software is great, from an ISP's standpoint that software is pure evil, soaking up bandwidth faster than java and animated gif's.
