it's not hard.  the apple ][ puts out ntsc, so you just plug in a small tv.

camcorder viewfinder, at baseband.

i presume you have an 80 column card?  if so, you need a good viewfinder,
if not you can pretty well use the lowest quality viewfinder you might
encounter.

use a 6820 or 6822 PIA for the keyboard, that gives you 8 or 16 inputs,
and microswitches will work fine for the "keyboard".

7 switches (4 fingers, 3 for thumb) will work quite well.

then you just need to write a program to check for the switches and
enter text into a buffer, or initiate commands as per the keyboard
input.

mount in an external pack.
