If it One option you may want to consider is to get an AMPS account in a different locale. You can get really cheap rates in metropolitan areas with lower costs-of-living. I pay 90c per minute (or something equally outrageous) during peak times here in SF. A friend of mine from Nashville pays 35c (or something) in ROAMING charges when he's here. If you could get a similar deal and keep usage down to 30 mins a day (or only hookup at night, which might be cheaper still), AMPS might be livably inexpensive. -- Eric A.
