These display's were used in a nintendo compatable VR headset that was offered some time ago, I saw in a Nuts and Volts magazine a complete operating unit for only $99.00USD a while back and ordered one. Unfortunately..... 80Col text hurts your eyes after a few minutes and it reall is only designed to display graphics. I haven't even tried messing with it for Augmented reaility as the expieriments in VR with the headset failed miserably, No use using something that gives you headaches. It might be possible to sandwich the 2 displays to get better contrast but I think there would be some serious parallax problems at the edges of the screen. A black screen with white text has a grey cast to it, while the text is badly pixelized. Sorry to throw water on your fire.
