Check out Timeline (http://www.digisys.net/timeline/hacker.html#mini) for the $29 Sony LCX005BKB display or Halted Specialties "Gizmo of the Week" (http://www.halted.com/gizmo/gz033197.htm) for $9.95 NEC displays with identical parameters (also includes a backlight!). I have both pieces and am frustrated with the minature connectors that are used. The displays from Halted included surface mount jacks for the micro connectors, but I don't have the facilities to make use of them. Does anyone know of any easy way to build such a tiny circuit? If you can make the connection and have an a good ~50ns clock, these displays are easy to interface. Essentially you shift analog RGB data into the device in a synchronous fashion and it displays it. A frame buffer of some sort would be ideal. Unfortunately I haven't even gotten to that stage yet. Tramm -- o![]()
