Underwearable Visual Display

Back to the drawing board. Once again, my brain in overdrive,
shifting though thoughts of wearable computers at insane rates, I
started pondering what would make an effective submersive (or damn
close) underwearable computer. This has been one of my most tantalizing
tribulations in the long process of deciding what I want my monstrosity
of a underwearable to be.

I was thinking of using something like Oakleys (starting with Foakleys
or Oaklleys or something like that for beta testing purposes) as a base
design for a submersive environment. Creating a stereoscopic (or maybe
just single lense to start with) display of some measureable quality is
a daunting task. Keep in mind this is all a little bit ahead of its
time probably and will require a year or two or three or ... for the
technology to develop and seeing as how I'm just a stupid student (High
School of all places) trapped with no tools and a world which doesnt
understand me, I have no chance of being able to develop it on my own.
But enough with the bitching! Let the thoughts flow!:

The first option would be to replace a lense with a lcd custom fitted
but this creates infinite problems with image rasterization and other
such stupid things and it also looks rather wierd to passerby's. Also,
you'd have to customize each LCD for each pair of glasses.

The microoptical display seems like a great idea but not as submersive
as desired. However, using the principle, it might be possible to use
the general concept and instead of aiming the light from the projector
in the frame at one small part of the lense, you might be able to aim
the projector at the lense which could be coated with a semi reflective
surface. I dont believe this is currently possible just due to size
restrains but please please please correct me if I'm even possibly
wrong. =)

I was reading about the Virtual Retinal Display by Microvision
(http://www.mvis.com) and kind of drooling before realizing that there
probably isnt a way to make it small and compact enough to be
unnoticable to the avg. joe shmoe walking by you on the street.
None-the-less, very interesting possibility.

My quest to find a some way to create an effecitve visualization
method which could fit relatively unoticably into a set of
(f)oakl(l)ey's leaves off here, as the ideas trickle to a halt. So,
defeated, I lay, hoping some faithful technoholic can help quell
my desire for a sleek relatively undetectable viewing apparatus.

I would of course, as always, enjoy any thoughts on how to create
relatively unnoticable color displays for wearable computers. The
bigger the screen appears, the better, btw.

Thanks!
Matt
