Inexpensive Display Technology

I just found the MIT Wearable Computing Page today and am interested in
building my own. However, most of the material on that page seemed to
date from circa 1997, and thus, might be a little outdated. Does anyone
know if the P5 display is still in producion and what the cost might be?
According to PED, they've stopped "development" on the Pesonal Display
Devices; have they also stopped selling them as well?
I'm also wondering if the prices for some of the components has
dropped since that page was last edited? If I build one of these at all,
it's going to be with serious budget constraints, could a Lizzy be
constructed for about US$1000-$1500 these days, if older and slower
PC/104 cards were used?

Thanks for the help!
