Got it going; it seems that the ftp site I was trying to use didn't like talking to the new machine, which doesn't reverse- resolve from IP to hostname properly. Once I got that fixed, stuff started going much smoother... However, looking at your site, I now see that I'm gonna have to do it all over again, 'cause I blew away hda4, the sleep space. Oops.
