Re: Timeline $99 Computer

I broke down and bought a 32 meg Simm for the unit, and then tried it on 2
separate hard drives... an IBM 4 gig travelstar and a Hitachi 1.3 gig. The
4 gig drive came up in the BIOS setup correctly (there is an autodetect
setting which seems to be the default, but manual values can be entered)
but failed with a "Hard disk error". I then tried the 1.3 and it worked
correctly and booted into Win95. The 4 gig works on my laptop both before
and after the tests, so I think that the autodetect didn't pull the correct
info from the drive. Unknown whether Linux will work at this point, I'll
likely be testing that soon to see.
