I was poking around microcontroller sites today and caught a glimpse of AMD's Elan chips. They seem to be bonified 3&486s in an eensy-weensy little package. Has anyone ever played with these? I was especially impressed with all of the different speed/power saving options. Perhaps one could take one of these little thingies and cast it into a block of rubber or wax or something about the size of a cigarette pack... Hell, maybe you could even build it into your HUD or keyboard... One sad note though, is that AMD seems to be only interested in bulk purchases... Ones anyone know of a place where these things can be ordered in small quantities? I suppose it's kind of silly for me to be thinking about my second wearable when I haven't even finished the first one, though... The Elan is probably waaay out of my price range... -- Subcription/unsubscription/info requests: send e-mail with subject of "subscribe", "unsubscribe", or "info" toWear-Hard Mailing List Archive (searchable): http://wearables.ml.org
