I don't think this would work; a standard ide ribbon is wider than the
2.5" interface. Although I've never seen the ribbons used for 2.5" drives,
so maybe the 2.5" drives have wide ends to connect to the ribbon.

Any more authoritative answers? (no offense to The CrapHead!) ;)
