Everything I need most urgently would work on a 386, so a 486 would be
even faster; I could do tons of text editing, re-compile that project
that I meant to debug by tomorrow, in the background, get reminded that
it's time for an appointment {that I completely forgot was today},
harass me about the things I meant to get done today, and so on (not
necessarily all of these simultaneously, and quickly, though.)
You could do basic wireless internet (with, say, NetTamer or Lynx - or
with 8Mb RAM or more, even use NetScape 2.02 or maybe even 3?), or
wireless modeming (I don't need those, yet at least.)
Couldn't do real-time video recording, most likely. Can do digital
picture grabbing (The Turbo Tortoise, a 386 Wearable, does that.)
It's not the "Ferrari" of wearables, or the "Mack Truck" either
(unless you stick one whopper of an HD in it!) - but it's affordable,
maybe a little bulky, but cheap. Sorta the "Old Ford Station Wagon" of
wearables, maybe? <G>
Mark Willis (who's maybe too tired to try to be funny.)
