>> HOPEWELL JUNCTION, NY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 19, 1998 Virtual Vision,
Inc.,
>>a subsidiary of FED Corporation, demonstrated prototype Personal
Information
>>Display(tm) glasses-like headsets for portable computer applications at
the
>>Lehman Brothers TECH EXPO '98 in New York City today. This headset
provides a
>>view equivalent to that of a 21-in. CRT Monitor at arms length, yet is
small
>>enough to fold and place in a vest pocket. The headset is a spin-off of a

>>The headset systems will also be demonstrated at the Society for
>>Information Display (SID) Conference in Anaheim, CA later the same week.
>> The prototype headsets incorporated two flat panel displays: color
NTSC
>>video liquid crystal displays, and fixed image monochrome SXGA
>>(1280 x 1024 pixels) organic light emitting diode (OLED) displays. A SVGA
>>color model is planned for pilot production in the fourth quarter. The

>>privately held FED Corporation (Hopewell Junction, NY). Virtual Vision
>>develops and markets head-mounted display systems for stand-alone and
>>wireless computing in commercial, industrial, and military applications.
>>The company leverages its intellectual property portfolio and expertise to
>>provide products which will equip mobile workers with real-time data for
>>hands-on work activities, and to expand connectivity of mobile computing
>>by integrating head-mounted display technology with head tracking, eye
>>tracking, real-time video, and wireless communications.
