Well, I am using the mpg123 mp3 player but, because the sound hardware is Soundblaster Pro compatible, it is only playing at 22khz instead of a full 44khz, so my mods and s3m's sound alot better...(they take up a crapload less space too!) I am also working on getting the festival text-speech package up and running... for full voice output. I am still looking for a good voice input system....there are hints that festival can do it, but I haven't had the time to really work on finding out how/if it is possible. I don't yet have a twiddler or a portable display, so the basic "full time" wearable requirements haven't been met...I will be ordering a twiddler very shortly however. Every bit helps extend the system's usability...which is why I went this direction. As Thad has said many times...get somthing up and running first! THEN worry about getting it "perfect" -- wise advice...I have already noticed stuff I never thought about at first, like walking around with headphones on REALLY makes it hard to hear other people trying to get your attention! I have had to get used to looking around alot more than I used to. I am sure I look quite paranoid, now. :) [less relevant to me sections snipped] --friar
