Am I right in that we can simply plug > these two things together, hook in a keyboard and have a functioning > windows CE wearable? I don't think so. First, the $99 486 is a motherboard from a cash register, not one of the SMOS cards (which are much more expense $600+), the P7 isn't available yet as was just discussed, and as far as I know I've never seen windows ce run on a 486, nor have I ever seen an installation package to install windows ce on anything. It comes preinstalled on products. Even if you could get an installer, there is no guarantee it would work with this setup since you would need windows ce drivers for a vga display (for the evaluation p7($1000)) and other drivers and probably an interface for the p7 alone ($100/unit). Now, with a P7 evaluation board (which includes vga input $1000) and the $99 486 the buying group is planning to purchase, and a power supply and keyboard you *could* run win 95 right now. Am I missing something. I think that's all you need. If you wanted to use one of the SMOS cards you also need a carrier board to interface with the remainder of your hardware. -Paul -- R.
