I'm assuming these plans are flexible--e.g., I could sign up for all of the parts for the Condor except the Ricochet (and maybe with a smaller hard drive)... Speaking of the Ricochet, since most of us (including me) probably don't live in a Ricochet-equipped area, we still need a solid wireless Internet connection alternative. I know lots of ideas have been thrown around, but do we have any workable solution? For people who live in CPDP-equipped areas and can handle the price, that's a valid alternative, but that still leaves many people disconnected (or, at best, connected only when they're near a phone jack). Presumably, short of building out own network (or waiting for Ricochet to cover the rest of the world) we're going to have to use some kind of wearable relay to a more traditional base station. Here's a few questions: First, for the relay, I've never seen any pre-built option that looks good, but someone mentioned an IBM device for about $200 that relays over 900MHz. Does anyone have any more info? And what about the base station? Has anyone worked out a legal and plausible idea? By the way, put me on the list for the P5. --andi
