That is probably the best way to get this going. I have 2 comments on the wearing of a unit near your body: 1.)heat 2.) moisture Most computers will shut down when they reach about 98 degrees the body is warm enough to cause a system of reach that temp., quickly. The body also cranks out a fair amount of moisture which cannot be good for a computer. I would recommend that any design that is next to the body also include some form of heat insulation and moisture barrier.
