Good to know I am not the only one in need of such a connector. I just took an x-acto blade to the male connector of an usb extension and was left with a very similar bare plug. I wasn't very happy with my first attempt, i think i put too much pressure bending and at least one of the cables was pulled loose. In the end I completely ripped apart the connector and threw away the small panel of the two metal housing as i couldn't get it to match the bend. The larger part of the connector i bent with pliers to comfortable angle. i then filled the open side with some hot glue and encased it all in some heat shrink tubing. This will suit my needs for now, but i could still do with a thinner cable and about 1cm less exposed plug. i think some saw action may be in order at that point. i really like that flexusb connector. perhaps i should swing by j&r and see what they look like in real life. Thanks all for the tips! --francois On Mon, Apr 19, 2004 at 04:49:29PM -0400, McCarty, Paul wrote: > We've looked for these repeatedly, and finally had to build our own from Digikey parts. Basically, we took a USB M/F extension cable and cut the male end and put on a new USB connector and bend the housing 90 degrees. I suppose you could get fancy and dip it in tool dip. But it seems to work quite well. > > Here's the Digikey part #s: > USB A Male, Solder A-USBPA > USB A/A Extension Cable AE-1138ND > > -Paul > > > -----Original Message----- > > From: Francois Gurin [mailto:] > > Sent: Monday, April 19, 2004 4:20 PM > > To:
