get four serial to ethernet adapters
put an ethernet card on your pda
read the four streams independently in one program and send them to your
main program in one stream.. if they need to be one stream.

otherwise, you need to have a standalone device that takes in 4 9600baud
streams and outputs a single 38400 baud stream. could be done with a micro
controller or three.. one each for mixing two streams..

get an ipaq with a dual pcmcia expansion sleeve.
get two socket communications pcmcia dual serial cards for four ports
total.
