BINGO!

Our solution with a CDMA 1x card ( >150 kbps, unlimited wireless Internet
access) running VNC on X-Windows will work perfectly well for viewing PDF
schematics or service manuals.
The 60 MHz CPU will be waiting for the network data ... its practically
overkill ... for this application.
BlueTooth is faster, and there are 900 MHz radios running 1-mega-baud too.

For AR it doesn't work though, and that's where your mini-PC HW makes
sense.
