Aims
The aims of the society shall be to further the interests of its members in aspects of amateur radio (ham radio) with an emphasis on amateur television, especially EyeTap photography, EyeTap videography, wireless communications, amateur packet radio, wearable computing (WearComp), the GNUX operating system and directly associated activities.

The group also provides material and resources for learning about amateur radio and attaining an Amateur Radio License. We have a study kit, information, and expertise, sufficient for anyone dedicated to the cause to study for an amateur radio license, or to upgrade their existing license to an advanced class license.
Facilities
We manage a facility on the fourth floor of Sandford Fleming building, and an antenna facility on the roof of the Sandford Fleming building, having gigabit fiber optic connection, for high speed internet packet data.

More recently we have placed an installation on the roof of Robarts Library giving us excellent coverage of the greater Toronto area. The site at Robarts Library is primarily aimed at high speed amateur packet radio.

We are currently in the process of getting a site up on the CN tower; anyone interested in volunteering to assist in this effort, please contact us.

Meetings
Meetings are typically held almost every Friday at 4:30 PM in Sandford Flemming, Room 2202. Interested persons can come to one of these meetings or contact either Steve Mann or James Fung for more information.
